Becca Bell is the daughter of Jason Bell and Dawn Bell and the younger sister of Andie Bell.

Biography[]

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder[]

Throughout A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, Becca seems to still be processing the upsetting events surrounding her sister's abduction, and Pip soon finds out that Jason, the father of the Bell family, emotionally abused his kids and that Andie was actually a drug-dealing criminal. As Pip keeps looking into the case, she starts to get threatening notes. written by both Becca Bell and Elliot Ward. Becca later kidnaps the Amobi's dog Barney, and it is implied that if Pip did not give her case up, he would have died. Becca had originally kept her end of the deal and let him free, but he runs into a river and drowns, leading Pip to believe he was intentionally murdered. Yet, it was Jason Bell (Becca's father) who ended up killing Barney. He drowned Barney (Pippa's dog) as a way to regain control, not realizing that Becca didn't get a dog without permission and that ultimately it was Pip's pet.

At the end of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, we learn that she was raped by Max Hastings and had accidentally killed her sister after learning that Andie was the one who supplied the drugs. When she had told Andie what happened, Andie had shown no remorse, causing the two sisters to start fighting and Andie choking on her vomit and dying. Becca was in shock, leading to Andie dying. Ultimately she was too angry to do anything, but too scared to touch her sister. In the end she then places Andie in a old sewage tank where is found 5+ years later due to police. When Pip finds out that it was Becca who killed Andie, she goes over to her home. That is then when Becca fearfully decided to drug Pip so her secret wouldn't get out. They fight as intoxicated Pip stumbles out into the road trying to get away, then Becca begins to try and strangle dizzied Pip, but then feels guilty and stops. Then Ravi Singh and Pip's father find them at the scene, Becca is pinned down, and Ravi helps Pip to safety. Becca then becomes incarcerated, yet enjoys it as she is able to escape from her horrible father.

Good Girl, Bad Blood | As Good As Dead[]

Becca and Pip become good friends, and have chats weekly. She helps Pip uncover more details on who might be her stalker by giving Andie Bell's first hamsters' name to answer a security question needed to unlock Andie's secret ID. The draft in the email gives clear clues to Pip on Andie's true intentions, love towards Becca, why she acted in the way she did on the night she died, what was her death interconnected to and who the DT Killer was.

Personality[]

"Becca is a troubling character, forced to hurt others based off of guilt for letting her older sister die. In the end, her character is redeemed after readers realize just scared she was. It wasn't right, but in the moment she was in shock, and her internal instincts left her amidst her sister choking. She turns out to be happier when she becomes incarcerated, as she is free from her emotionally abusive father, and her treacherous past life. She now lives out in an institution where she learns French, and enjoys her life while limited." - Aubrey Tillett 4/20/24

Relationships[]

Andie: Becca always felt like second best to her older sister. Which everyone around her, even Andie herself made clear during her entire life. This created a deep seated jealousy and sister rivalry, making their relationship rather volatile. They were described to fight one minute and next one it's all forgotten. This volatility and tovarly was what ultimately caused Andie's death. When Becca confronted Andie about her part in Becca being assaulted, Andie showed no empathy and instead put Becca down, resulting in Becca snapping ineviatably.
