Biography[]
A Good Girl's Guide to Murder[]
Salil Singh was accused of murdering his girlfriend Andie Bell. Elliot Ward, his history teacher, was Sal's murderer. Elliot made Sal's friends lie about his alibi, making it seem that Sal was the one who killed Andie Bell and hide her body. After having an affair and argument with Andie, Elliot caused Andie to hit her head and fall. In a hurry, Elliot left the room to get supplies for Andie, giving her the chance to leave the Ward residence, where the argument took place. After having another argument with her sister Becca Bell, over Andie's distribution of drugs causing Becca to get both drugged and raped, Andie chokes on her own vomit and dies. Becca then hides the body, which leads to Andie being reported as missing. Thinking he caused both Andie's death and disappearance, Elliot frames Sal as Andie's murderer. He does this by force-feeding Sal sleeping pills, then suffocating him. Elliot, for five years, was able to trick the public that Salil Singh had killed his girlfriend.
In those five years, the public tormented Sal's remaining relatives: his parents and younger brother, Ravi, by vandalizing the Singh residence. The press has also been shown to call Sal a "murderer and monster". It's heavily implied this is racially motivated since Sal is Indian. Ravi is then met by Pip, and the two form a team to uncover the mystery behind the Andie Bell/Sal Singh case.
Physical Appearance[]
Sal is a young Indian man with brown skin, brown hair and brown eyes. He is described as having messy black side-swept hair, thick arched eyebrows and oaken-hued skin.
Personality[]
Sal was always kind, sweet, collected and empathetic. He was hard working, smart, and known as a straight A student. He was shown to be responsible and mature, always trying to do the right thing. He steered clear of immature and irresponsible behavior and illegal activities such as drugs. Sal was also kind of naive and too nice for his own good at times, and didn't really like confrontation and conflict, causing him to enable his girlfriend's shady behavior to a certain extent. When push came to shove, Sal stood up for what he believed in. When his brother Ravi had trouble sleeping as a child, Sal spent hours creating comic books for him to read at night just for him to sleep. Others also claimed he was a good and caring boyfriend to his girlfriend Andie Bell. Sal had the biggest heart and was planning on going to Oxford (Yale in the American version).
